Get to know me

Hiya! I'm Caitlin,

I’m a documentary photographer & filmmaker based in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland with a love for honest storytelling, wild places, and the people connected to them.

My work is shaped by movement, atmosphere, and quiet observation, from intimate weddings and community projects to outdoor adventures and slow journeys through landscape. I’m drawn to the in-between moments just as much as the big ones; the weather rolling in, the conversations around a table, the stillness after a long day outside.

Through both photography and film, I aim to create work that feels natural, grounded, and emotionally true.

Where It All Started

My love for photography and filmmaking began early, back in primary school, driven by a natural curiosity for creativity and storytelling. From a young age, I was drawn to making small videos, editing, and documenting the world around me, always with a camera close by.

I went on to study Photography, graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in 2022, where I developed both my technical skills and my documentary approach. Shortly after graduating, I travelled through Europe with my camera in hand, using photography as a way to explore place, people, and everyday moments.

In 2025, I returned home after spending a year and a half living, travelling, and working in New Zealand. Photography and filmmaking remained a constant during this time, documenting landscapes, daily life, and completing the Te Araroa Trail, a 1,250km journey that deepened my connection to place, patience, and observation.

Today, I photograph and create films for weddings, events, outdoor & adventure projects, creative commissions and landscape-led work, bringing together years of creative curiosity, travel, and documentary storytelling. When I’m not creating, you’ll usually find me outdoors exploring, walking trails and discovering new places, these are the things that continue to shape how I see and photograph the world.
